RTV159 siliconeadhesive sealant is acetoxy room-temperature-curing, one-componentadhesive that are generally ready to use and exhibit extremely highstrength. They typically cure to tough, resilient silicone rubber onexposure to atmospheric moisture at room temperature, and are noted toprovide high-temperature performance - RTV159 silicone adhesive sealant can typically withstand 500° F ofcontinuous operating temperature for extreme temperature demands.
Generallyused in all types of industrial applications, especially in aviationapplications such as bonding the lighting housing on the outside ofairplanes, these products have the potential to withstand the high heatof the lights and the high strength necessary to survive the wind shearon the outside of a plane.
RTV159 silicone adhesivesealants have a paste consistency that can typically be applied tohorizontal, vertical and overhead surfaces in applications requiringhigh strength and temperature performance, and release acetic acidvapors as a byproduct of cure.
Where section depths exceed 6 mm(1/4 in.), Momentive's one-component addition cure or two-componentsilicone rubber compounds are suggested. Additionally, these grades candemonstrate excellent electrical insulation properties, low temperatureflexibility, and superior weatherability, ozone and chemicalresistance.
